Presenters

Allison Taisey
Project coordinator for the Northeastern IPM Center, helping to improve pest management at multifamily properties.

Ms. Taisey received a BS in entomology from Cornell University and went on to earn an MAT in biology education from Cornell. Allison currently works for the Northeastern IPM Center at Cornell University. Through a HUD-USDA interagency agreement grant, she is working with 13 housing authorities to implement IPM at one AMP per public housing authority. In additional to her work at Cornell, Allison works with the National Center for Healthy Housing on their IPM projects and conducts training for pest control professionals.


John Gedeon, Jr.
President and General Manager of The General Pest Control Co. in Cleveland.

John has a both a BS and a MBA from Northwestern University. He has over 40 years experience in the practice of pest control in northeast Ohio. John is also a Registered Sanitarian with the State of Ohio and has achieved the designation as an Associate Certified Entomologist through the Entomological Society of America. John has written articles for local publications and has conducted training sessions on the subject of pest management for health departments, apartment management, and tenant organizations.


Nips
Nips and her manager (Luiz Hernandez) and two handlers (Justin Harris & Dan Hernandez) are team certified by NESDCA (National Entomology Scent Detection Canine Association) to detect live bed bugs and viable eggs.
